Recommended by a local. Very good sushi. Each roll was a step or two above and more advanced than the standard good sushi place.
Nice spot. WARNING:BYOB -

Sushimi relax was advertised as 25 pcs,
It was 2 pics short.
Philadelphia cream cheese roll , had cheese that was not philadelphia cream cheese .
Soft shl crab was very dry.
Plates had very little ginger on them.
Fish looked ok , pices were small. -

Oishi is a very reliable sushi spot in an area that doesn't have a whole lot of solid sushi options.
After my first visit, I was on the fence. While the fish was very fresh, the rolls seemed to be a bit generic and some were so heavily sauced, it was a bit off-putting. However, my wife is a big fan so I got to have more experiences and in that time, Oishi has really grown on me. In fact, I now consider it to be one of my go to Sushi/Asian restaurants in the Newtown area.
Some of my favorites from the sushi menu are the tuna, yellowtail, and salmon New Age roll, the Screaming Spicy and the riceless sushi apps. All great. Aside from quality sushi, Oishi also has a nice selection of non-sushi fare including Gopdol Bibimbap, Thai curry, Korean style dumplings and more, so there's something for everyone. Like their great sushi, their pan Asian entrees are very very good.
All in all, great restaurant. Looking forward to exploring more of their menu! -

Came here on Valentine's Day and I really enjoyed my meal!! The sushi was very fresh and slightly expensive compared to other sushi places close by, but it's byob so that makes up for it. I would come back! Even thought it was super busy in there, our server was really great and attentive. I would recommend!
Images below are pork stir fry and various sushi! -

That place is so crowded, nobody goes there anymore ! Haha!!
Maybe one of the best sushi restaurants from here to NYC. I can't say no to their spicy crunchy tuna - addictive! And the sake supreme is just that. Great menu. Fun place to go with friends. Bring a bottle it's a byo
